The Most Promising Australian Football Youngsters

Australia has one of the best national football teams in the world. Its players are ranked among the top in the European leagues. Here are some of the most promising Australian football youngsters based on their assessment of skills and pure talent.

Daniel Arzani

Arzani is a 21-year-old young football player from the Celtic club in the Scottish league. He is a midfielder with great focus on the game. His current rating is 69, with a potential of 83. He has risen quickly through the ranks, playing for both Sydney FC and Melbourne City between 2016 and 2018. He was then snapped up by English League champions Man City, who later loaned him out to continue his development at Celtic.

Awer Mabil

Awer is a 24-year-old right-wing player for the FC Midtjylland Club in the Danish. He is a superb winger, with a record of being one of the swiftest players. He has made 19 appearances in which he has scored five goals and assisted in 10 goals. Awer has had quite the footballing journey, having been born in a refugee camp in Kenya. He has beaten odds to rise to his current position, spending most of his development days at Adelaide United.

Christopher Ikonomidis

The left-wing 25-year-old player is signed with Perth Glory Club. Christopher averages a goal every 145 minutes and scored eight goals at the Hyundai A-League last season. He is also quite fast in dribbling and has good ball control, posing an attacking threat. Experts have always tipped Ikonomidis to make a move to a foreign league. Going by his performances this season, the upcoming transfer window might be just the chance he has been waiting to make the big move. He has played for the Australia U-20 and U-23 sides, before being called up to the senior squad where he has scored two goals in 12 appearances.
